I'm also not sure if the reload stays fast on higher tier IJN CVs. However, the reload seems to be much faster so far, so I'm not sure if it's worth taking. Could someone please fill me in on what the drop pattern is like, the arm time, and whether Torpedo Acceleration is a good idea?įor the third point, on USN CVs I would take Torpedo Armament Expertise, to reduce the massive reload. I am currently on the Zuiho, which had manual drop removed, so I have no idea how Torpedo Acceleration would do on Ryujo and up. I have no idea how long the torpedoes take to arm, or what the manual drop pattern is for IJN Cvs. The strike squadrons have fewer planes, so the skill has less effect. The large strike squadrons also tended to shoot down catapult fighters quite often. Would Dogfighting Expert be a better choice here? (Planning on Evasive Maneuvers later on at 11th point, but I do have a question about it, see final bullet point.)įor the second point, on USN CVs I would normally take Expert Rear Gunner, as Torpedo Acceleration would make the torpedoes take much longer to arm, resulting in me having to drop at extreme ranges, which increases the spread, resulting in fewer hits. I do not want this build for my current carrier, but for all the carriers throughout the line, from Ryujo to Hakuryu.įor the first point, I would normally go with aircraft servicing expert, but so far IJN planes seem to rearm much faster than USN planes, and IJN fighters run out of ammo very fast. Coming from USN CVs, I'm not entirely sure how to spec for this line.īefore answering, keep in mind that since I don't nor will I have doubloons at any point I cannot change this build once free respecs end. That said, I've also been grinding up the IJN CVs and have a 10 point IJN commander at the moment. With respecs free I've been completely respeccing all my ships, as a lot of them had rather strange builds that I previously could not change.
